The reaction on here again after our defeat (our first bloody defeat in six games!!!) is nothing short of pathetic!!! We are playing the Premier League, every game is tough. West Ham are not and never were going to be relegation fodder, and neither are we. Both teams should end up mid-table. I do not think international breaks are good for us, we seem to lose momentum. But was it really that bad today? Pardew cannot legislate for a 32 million striker who is normally lethal missing a penalty like that. Ok the first half was not great, but we had enough chances second half to have won comfortably. It happens sometimes. But even if you are going to criticise, lets have some intelligent criticism. So far tonight we have had the usual 'Pardew Out!!!' We were sh*t'!! and the bizarre 'lets get Dowie back'!!!! Our fans seemed to have changed since we came up into the Premier. Maybe we do have a new breed of supporter now

Well said my man, poor performance tonight and got what we deserved. Expect us to bounce back next week as that's the way it goes.

We were totally confused by the Hammers formation and unfortunately for AP today proved we don't have enough intelligence in the team to be able to adjust accordingly. West Ham forced us to play long because we were unable to make on field adjustments and we panicked in possession. AP made an adjustment from the technical area that enabled us to get a foothold in the game and bar a horrible penalty miss we would of actually reached the break level, undeservedly.
The half time break enabled Pardew to totally adjust the gameplan and we dominated from then on, but sadly Benteke chose to have a mare in front of goal and Townsend had a pretty our game IMO. Cabaye totally changed the game and surely must now start in front of Ledley and Fryers must be given a run, cos a left footed left back is just so much more comfortable than a right footed centre half playing there.
Our style will not change to how Pardew wants until he has a squad that doesn't panic when put under pressure in their own half when they have the ball, especially when the scores are level. We really need the players to have the same have a go attitude that they have when we are chasing the game like in the second half.
We have now lost three games one nil and should not of lost any of them. We didn't deserve to win them either, but we're well worth a point in all of them.

Some reactions are ridiculously exaggerated and genuinely appear to be coming from a brand of "entitled supporters". However days like today are bloody frustrating as it's not like we were turned over by a really good side. Don't get me wrong, they weren't sh*te like they have been in a few of their games this season but we did rather give them a helping hand. And it's WHU which doesn't help!

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Sorry but I thought we were pretty good second half. We were playing the best West Ham team for years who have trouble playing at their new home but still a very good team.

Roll on next week, shame Ledley had a poor match after such a great run.

A pretty fair summing up Mouse and to go a little further there were elements of our game today which, were highly embarrassing such as Wards complete spoon of the free kick that was touched to him by Townsend and with millions watching. We have got to overcome thinking that we can just turn up with all the hype of an unbeaten run and best a team like West Ham who it was pretty obvious were not going to roll over and die. They really wanted it whereas we did not.

We were chronic in that first half and yes let's hope Fryers now gets a run because clearly Kelly is not up to it the quality required for the PL. A shame but he is not.

I was also disappointed by our overall work rate and if everyone had matched Jimmy Macs energies then things would surely have been different. Tactics from the off were odd to say the least given that we were at home.

Particular Pluses ....Tompkins, Steveeeeee, JM, Cabaye

Not saying we should have kept Jedinak, but he would be able to calm the lads down, read and assess the situation, and get them competing without now having to wait for a Pardew chat at half-time. We were hoping Cabaye was going to bring that to the team but he isn't at present. We need a Gerrard type player in the middle I think. We need a proper midfielder captain.

He's hardly pulling up trees in the Championship where many Villa fans are surprised by his poor performances

He wasn't poor for us though. Sometimes a move doesn't work out for a player.

The weather didn't suit us. Bent eke clearly didn't like it. Lets hope we get better weather in sunny Leicester. If it ad been a 3 pm kick off we would ave won cos it wasn't raining then. I blame Sky for making us play late. But I doubt the players do because sky is why they are so rich. They prefer sky raining money than water.
