So Palace have had 16 different managers in the time Arsenal have had one. And whatever you say about Wenger the truth is his team play some of the most beautiful football in the game. I reckon Palace will only taste real success with a long term quality manager and Alan Pardew is beginning to look like the guy. We just need him to stay and keep the progress going that we have seen so far.

Very few managers last more than 3 years. It doesn't harm Chelsea much changing as much as we do.
I think you will find having a rich benefactor is the key to success .

Too many clubs are ridiculously impatient, like Man City who seem to change their manager once a year. After SAF, I suspect Wenger will be the last'long haul' manager we'll see.

Just wondering who the second longest serving manager in the PL is. Hughes? Dyche? Howe? Karanka?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

So we should still have Holloway? Warnock? If your theory only applies to managers you like it doesn't apply at all.

We had five managers in one season once. Think it was 1981.

Succession planning is the way to maintain success. We've never had the stability to do this. Southampton do this pretty well, we tend to be reactionary.

We tend to have been reactionary in the past, I agree. But I think that is changing.

Looks like we are trying to be more proactive these days as our squad improves and our playing style evolves. I hope this proactive approach will also extend to the academy, so that the young players we send out on loan now have a chance of making the squad later.
