After the Preston result I thought his "Hat was on a shaky peg" as Bill Shankly once said.Think he spent near on £50 Mill on players so he was backed by his Board.Steve Bruce would be a good choice for them.

They're a bit screwed aren't they. £50m spent, manager sacked who bought those players, 5 managers inside a year, towards the bottom of the championship.. they've been in the prem for so long i've a feeling it'll be just as long to get back in.

Villa getting relegated is one of the conditions in a four-fold I have for this season so I'm hoping they recruit someone utterly rubbish.

Since Sherwood left in October last year they have only had 2 managers, Garde and Di Matteo. The new owner Dr Xia has only been at the helm since May this year.

Add Eric Black to the list plus whoever takes over and it will be 5 managers inside a year.

Yes Eric Black and Kevin MacDonald but they were 'Interim' managers.Steve Clarke is now the 'Interim' manager.

Under Di Matteo, A.Villa spent near on £50 Mill and only had 1 league win in 11 games, Home to struggling Rotherham, and went out of the League Cup to Luton.

Surprised it hasn't worked out if I am honest (although they have conceded a lot of very late goals to turn wins into draws).

Don't think RDM is a great manager but thought he was ok and with the momey they have spent they should be top 3/4 at least in the league.

Got WBA promoted into the PL and won the FA Cup and Champions League with Chelsea so not a bad record at all.

In his first managerial role he took MK Dons up to 3rd in Div 1 but lost the semi-final play-offs on penalties to scunthorpe. That season he signed Puncheon, on 'Loan' from Plymouth.

(Premier) League record to me was poor and is what he should be really judged upon. Lucked out with the CL by playing heavily defensive football after AVB wasn't given the time to change the system and style.

Poor record at Schalke and managed to win one game after spending a fortune at Villa in a lower league.
