Did anyone notice him more or less call Palace a one man team. so much off a one man team that our defenders and midfield are scoring goals also. for the record he thinks we solely rely on Benteke. well Jamie funily enough that's his job to score goals. I still think he is bitter about us throwing a spanner in the works and stopping Liverpool winning the tittle couple seasons back. I hope we turn them over AGAIN in a few weeks time. Jamie where coming for you.

The man is just bitter towards us. If I didn't know him, I would assume he had never played football in his life, with the drivel that comes out of his mouth!

Apparently the team has been built around him, which as the last player to join the squad in the recent window is quite some fancy trick. Also at Liverpool it was not possible to do that as the really big teams have many top class players. I quite like Jamie but as a pundit he is one deluded knob'ead. Jamie - in case you have forgotten, the last time Liverpool had a good side you were just out of nappies. And when the bubble pops this year, as it soon will, that run will continue. Look where Dortmund ended up with Klopp once teams figured out the long ball over the top of the high press totally does for them.

I'm afraid to say he is right. Nothing wrong with playing to your strengths but if we lose Benteke for a period of time then standby for a slump.

I think he was talking about, in the main, our system is designed to get the best out of Benteke. So it means quick crosses into the box and getting down the lines, that compared to at Liverpool where they'd pass it to death, delay the crosses and ask Benteke to play in tight spaces. Henry was much more spot on with his analysis whereas Carragher tries to find any convoluted way not to give us praise. Don't know who said it on FNF but one of them there is a bit of snobbishness when it comes to strikers, Benteke isn't considered in that upper bracket because he can't play in tight spaces on the ground, so his arial ability and movement in the box is overlooked. Benteke IMO is better technically (control, intelligence) than Lukaku but Lukaku has more talent if that makes any sense. I think most top teams now look for an exciting player like Lukaku and try to teach them the more refined aspects of them game rather than take the finished article like Benteke who doesn't quite have the flashy side to his game.

He even said that Bentekes goals will keep us up before quickly saying Bentekes goals will keep us in the league. comeback Gary Neville at least your a decent pundit.

The only reason that he was the last player to join the squad was because the negotiations were so protracted as it was common knowledge from the opening of the transfer window that we were looking for a big target man. The way that we play the team is built around two pacy wingers and a target man so in effect Carragher was correct
