Another very good comfortable performance tonight

I do feel though that its kinda tough on Wickham
We now put more balls into the box in one game than we used to do in a SEASON
Tonight was a great example that we have evolved well and moved on
Bolasie was his normal uncontrolled self , no end product and all over the place
Townsend and Zaha composed , disciplined with a game plan
We look a very good top 10 premier league side

We could have been one down within the first ten minutes if Lukaku hadn't fluffed a chance from a superb cross from Bolasie

Yes it is tough on Wickham but it's all part and parcel of being a footballer. I'm sure even he would admit if he had stayed fit last season and scored 15+ goals we probably wouldn't have been looking to spend big on a striker but unfortunately that wasn't the case so we had no choice. I'm sure at some point Benteke will miss a few matches for one reason or another and Wickham will get his chance.

I think the reason for more crosses is bentekes positional awareness is so much better then wickhams, the wingers know he'll be there or there abouts, and he literally wins everything. Alot of last season we would cross a ball but have no one in the box to get on the end of it, i guess thats the difference between a 9m striker and 30m striker. With remy back soon i cant really see connor getting a look in.

I'm not sure what team you're watching but last season................ Palace attempted 689 crosses from open play last season, second only to Southampton and 73 more than the third team on the list. When dead-ball situations are included, Palace tried to put the ball into the box from wide areas more than any other side in the Premier League last term.

So maybe Connor wasn't starved quite as much as you think? He's a good player but still has a lot to learn.
I thought Yannick had a good game.

I would not worry if I was Connor, I very much doubt that we will ever see Remy complete a whole half of football for Palace. Permanently injured, past his best and could not even get in a bang average Chelsea side.

Watch Henry talking about Benteke's movement for the goal, never seen Wickham do that for us, good movement tells the crosser exactly where to plant the ball.

The commentator made the point several times last night that as soon as one of the wingers gets the ball they look up to see where Benteke is. I'm sure that last year there were more crosses into the box without checking to see if anyone was there to receive it

It's a long season. Wickham will get his chance.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Its not tough on Wickham, he had his chance last season as the main striker.
He is not now due to Bentekes arrival, who is scoring goals, Wickham doesn't. He needs to improve and fight for a place.

He also put one on a plate for Gueye. Bias really does make people look stupid.

Exactly. The service has been there every season and Wilf and Yannick have taken stick for poor crosses, yet this is the first season in which we are actually getting more people into the box. Wickham is suffering from being the only one in the box 90% of the time since he's been here, when fit and the winger's, FB's from only having one target.
Saying that I think Benteke's movement is smarter and we have finally replaced FFS, who was the only centre forward we've had in the prem worthy of the name.
