Does anybody else think that Chungy deserves more than 2 minutes a game?

Given we are unbeaten in 4 and AP is up for Manager of the Month for September I think this is a dumb question to be honest.

Chungy is a great player, has improved massively from last season and is clearly in APs plans as he's appeared in every game so far this season. We're doing so well at the minute, you don't want to mess with things. But I think he'll be an important player for us this season, either as a super sub / occasional starter.

He was called Terrific in 1 game, assisted for a win in another, I am just asking whether i don't know, 5 - 10 minutes might not be pushing the boat out for a player said in AP's own words as 'terrific'.

In my opinion its a dumb question,he is suspect defensively and Everton away not ideal for him.Hes an attacking impact sub and games like tonight just don't suit him, home games we need a lift in would be the type that he may well get longer. To be perfectly honest I think he will be sold in the summer as we continue to upgrade the squad provided of course we remain in the PL.I think he is one of those that is in between PL/Championship quality and he needs to drop back down a division to get game time to improve. Its nothing personal, just my opinion and it would be awesome if he proved me wrong.Once Remy is fit I think its going to be hard for him to get a place on the bench if we are injury free and at some point Kai Kai is going to be added into the equation.

I think that his current role is to replace any attacking midfielder who isn't playing well and the problem last night (for him) is that everyone played well so who do you take off? He will get his chance if and when Puncheon loses form as he did last year as he will probably replace Punch in the starting lineup if that happens

Were you at the Cup Final? Puncheon is one of the top players in theLeague for creative contributions (passes, assists) and merits his place.

Chungy's time will come, football is a squad game.

Chungy has shown good form so far and IMO the way to destroy that is to give him 2 minute time wasting substitutions. To keep him ticking over he needs 15 mins at least.

I'm pleased he is now getting a run in the matchday squad. The lad has talent however I think he is more dangerous coming off the bench (not for 2 minutes though!) He's a solid back up player on my opinion.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
