Pards is favourite for the England Job. But would we care that much? Yes we have made a good start to the season, but we should be doing well after all. We have enough quality to be top half without question. There were enough rumours of player unrest last season and Pardew's arrogance when things are going well, that it would lead many of us to believe that the same thing could happen again. Personally, i would not shed that many tears. In our current position in the league and with the quality we have got i believe there would be plenty of good managers to choose from. You never know a new manager might decide that buying a left back in January would be a good idea!!!! Also, he might decide that Sullay KaiKai is worth a go in the first team!!! Either way, i feel total apathy about the whole thing. Does anyone else feel the same?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Pardew bookies favourite for next England Manager' by james03 Personally I'm a Pardew supporter, I don't think the sun shines out of his arse, but I think its important for us to keep a manager long term and he is decent enough. I know alot of you want him gone, but I think either way if he leaves it will hurt us. Even if you hate him we have not prepared for a change of manager, and scrambling for whatever we can get early in the Season is likely to hurt us.

Yep- don't care. There are upsides either way and whilst he's done a good job for us, I can't stand him as a person so wouldn't be upset if we got someone else in. But if he stayed, that's fine too- he's an average prem manager

I feel that him going would only be trouble that we don't really need right now. Continuity would be nice. Believe he has just signed a new contract so that may well price him out of the running anyway. Sam didn't seem to think the FA have loads of money to throw around.

But that happened outside the transfer window, so nothing could be done. Also our current position in the league is directly due to Pardew. These things do not happen by accident. Also the 'quality we have' is due to him too (& Parish). So, you seem to be delivering the most backhanded of compliments while still not being bothered if he goes? A very confused post.

Please provide a list of available and above average prem managers who can jump in right now to replace AP" Seriously, words fail me. We are finally assembling a top half squad and securing the continuity we need to be a long term feature in this division. And people are indifferent about leaping into a caretaker period followed by more transition.

Yes, would be a shame to lose him. The club has gone forwardly massively under Pardew. A lot of the quality players we now have are due to a combo of wanting to work with Pardew and Parish stumping up the cash. Benteke and Cabaye to name a couple. Even during the dismal run it was clear the players were still behind him and he hadn't lost the dressing room. although the results were terrible the performances and effort was there, in my opinion the results were not a fair reflection. It seems that we have stability for the first time in about 20 years and are gradually progressing year on year. The only decent available manager out there is Bruce and we don't want him because he's c***

I'd rather he stayed. I am, however, comforted by the fact that he's probably a little bit non-compliant with the FA's requirements for an England manager, ie. a yes-man with no mind of his own. He's also been in the papers for all the wrong reasons of late. The job is Bruce's, or Howe's at a pinch.

Agree, stability is key for us right now and hopefully, Southgate will accept being in charge for the next 4 games,do well, and accept the post full-time.
