Said exact same thing multiple times, Cabaye is a waste of a place in our team. We lost half of last season without mcarthur, as soon as he comes back in the team we go from pub team to prem team. Edited by DivingIsNotGood (22 Sep 2016 8.43am)

He is a quality player and we are a better team with him playing. However saying Cabaye is a waste of a place is mental. We were at our best until the turn of the year with these two playing together.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! |

I'd go as far as to say that in our team, Macca is more important than Cabaye, even if the Frenchman is a better footballer. MacCab is our best midfield pair given full fitness in the squad. I'm not sure what other fans are seeing if they're not seeing this. Granted, a 100% fit Ledley is a better choice than an 80% fit Cabaye. Edited by Mr_Gristle (22 Sep 2016 7.27pm)

If so stop following the ball, that 99% of fans do and focus on individual players, then judge their game!

I'm in total agreement about Jimmy Mac. Been telling this to any of my mates who'll listen. No one listens. I happen to think Cabaye is a good player but something is not quite right with him over the last year or so. Can't put my finger on it. Don't believe it's indifference. Injury, perhaps? I wonder if Flamini and Jimmy are a pairing, or if Flamini is simply cover? I have high hopes for this particular Frenchman. Quality pickup.

Do you remember the days when players used to be fit at the start of the season, got the occasional injury and missed a match or two during the season and we're still playing at the end of the season - Plus they weren't getting 80 grand a week? Now they come to a club like ours and aren't even fit to play as we approach October? Something wrong somewhere nowadays? I think I know the reasons but not sure I fully understand how we take players on that can't play for a couple of months into the season?

McArthur is definitely the player who makes our team tick. I have not seen a player at Palace with his energy since Simon Rodger. I honestly think when he's fully fit like against Stoke his fitness is miles ahead of any other Palace player, the ground he covers is insane! The way he closes players down and presses them makes other teams panic in possession and lose the ball if he hasn't got a toe in and broken it up already! Also as someone mentioned his simple passing keeps us ticking over and allows us to keep possession, something that he does very well alongside Ledley who also is a very good 'simple passer'. Keep up the great work Jimmy Mac!

Have to agree, he plays every game like it's his last. The difference without him in the team (and Ledley, another presser) against Southampton was massive.
