Noticed he lost his attacker for the Boro goal last week. Maybe it's time for him to have a break. Tomkins is now fit and needs game time I think it might be time to throw him in and give big Damo a break What do you think.

Love him as we do, he's been on borrowed time since last season. Never had the quality to be a decent prem CB...but can't question his commitment. His time is definitely up...but would love him to stick around the place.

I think once Tompkins gets in he will stay, Damo has had a great run with palace when his career has been a bonus for him joining us. But could be his last season with us.

Stick with him for Stoke, certainly to start and maybe bring on Tomkins for last 20 mins Start Tomkins against Saints Hopefully carry on with Tomkins after that But Damo is definitely a legend. I thought He would be binned when we were promoted but proved me wrong 10 times over. What he lacks in ability he makes up for with heart. Has been outstanding for us

It's a hard one to decide. Damo gives 100% and makes a lot of blocks that I feel he often doesn't get due credit for. He sometimes doesn't know when to ease off the gas and we have suffered for it on numerous occassions - but maybe that's tough because that's the position he plays - but IF Tomkins can do a better job then I say get Tomkins in WHEN he is ready. I honestly don't know Tomkins. If he's better than Damo put him in if and when he's ready - but I'm yet to be convinced that he is better.

From what I have seen, which admittedly is not that much a better description is that he is different

Tomkins might not be as blood and guts and Damo, but he's most certainly a better ball player and passer. They are different types of defender. As I ref and fellow center back I tend to watch them a lot more during games and one thing I have noticed is that he is of late being caught out a bit with clever movement and leaving attacking mids that come from deep to just run in. He's had a good run but I think now (as Souare's pace isnt there to bail him out) it's time to drop a divison where he can still earn a s*** load of cash and play first team footy.

Not saying Damo can go on for ever, but, although I'm sure Tomkins eventually will take over the position, I do not understand this blind assertion that he is so much better. We have seen nothing so far that evidences this. Let him play in the cup this week and see how it goes.

Not too much wrong with our defending really, its not as if we are leaking lots of goals. Would stick with Damo as he works well with Dann but thats not saying Tomkins isnt better havent seen enough of him to decide. He was great at West Ham.

Damo will be looking to atone for last weeks costly error. Whether AP will give him the nod over Tomkins to start is debatable but if he does I am sure he will really make the very best of it. Stoke like to chuck it up in the air a bit and of course Shawcross will be looking forward to his return I know section B are!

DD should be cover for Tomkins but until Tomkins proves himself fit enough to start DD is the man and what a man he is.
