I understand we have injures but I feel he makes to many changes. By now we need a settled 11, this is probably due to leaving our transfer activity late in the window and injuries. Isee Fryers is on the bench. Also Dreher, is he good ? I don't know much About him.

If Kelly and ward are playing and Pap injured why wouldn't Fryers be in the bench.?

Hopefully Fryers is there on merit. It'd be great if he's managed to massively improve since his debut when signed (although being better than that probably wouldn't be that much of an improvement).

There is no "best team" for any Premiership side. It all depends upon who they are playing.

I think Pards is starting to figure it out now that he has a set roster. You can't judge until all the transfer nonsense is over, and that wasn't until the middle of last week when Flamini joined the squad.

I think it's clear that Benteke can thrive as the lone striker with feed from Zaha and Townsend - both of whom were outstanding against Boro. The midfield is a little more interchangeable, but McArthur is a must, Punch is playing his way to being the same and Cabaye will be a first-choice player when fit.

The back four writes itself in, particularly now with Souare being out. Goalie should be Steve's for the keeping.

So there you have it:

Mandanda

Ward - Dann - Delaney - Kelly

Puncheon - Cabaye - McArthur

Zaha - Benteke - Townsend

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I agree, except I can see Tomkins coming on for Delaney soon. It hasn't been just him, but we have looked shaky on corners especially. And his lack of pace has been exposed a few times.
Though ironically, with Benteke there, we actually have more use for Delaney's patented diagonal cross-field lob now.

Yup.

He needs to see how teams work with the new guys in real games before he knows what combinations suits us most.

I know I am getting boring, but mid October he should know very well. Hopefully earlier.

I think that the excitement about the deliveries from Wilf and Andros are a little premature. Wilf had a great game on the weekend, gift wrapped and handed to him by George Friend, and we know what AT is capable of. However, there have been games where previously CW has struggled for service and it could be the same for Benteke if we don't have multiple plans and multiple teams who can work together for results. Some players will know that they are going to be a sub (Ledley / Chungy / Flamini) and that if they come on it is because they will be playing plan B or C or whatever.

One team with one plan of get it to Big Ben will not work all season!

Unless I've forgotten someone we now only have 5 fit defenders in the squad so the defence virtually chooses itself anyway. We did great transfer business in the end but God knows why we didn't bring in another defender. Any more injuries there and we're screwed.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Dann,Delaney,Ward,Kelly,Fryers,Tomkins plus Ledley and Flamini who both have experience playing at full back.

No and until we have seen Tomkins and Flamini play a good few games we do not know either.
