Someone posted about this in Palace Talk the other day. Statistically yes, sounds like a good sale. Stats dont necessarily represent what he meant to our club though!

'our fans' more like, it'll make little difference to 'our club' in the long run.

Or to Everton or relative in the market. It would take 100% of clubs to adhere to their spreadsheet for their analysis to have any credibility.

I agree they overpaid by a bit but nowhere near what they think. And we possibly overpaid on Benteke by a little so.....

"Overpaid" is a difficult concept to judge given the TV money now sloshing around in the game. Its like monopoly money falling from the sky - except it isnt, it is a reflection of how successful our league is.

Almost every transfer is an overpayment at the top level - even the modest ones at the end of the contract just get priced into the salary being demanded.

Put simply - we have paid premium price for a forward. Whether we got one will depend on how many goals he scores (other things impact on his contribution but at that level he has to deliver goals)

28m, I don't think you need stats to say that's good for an asset you purchased for 350k. Granted you have to factor in his value in terms of preservation of premiership income, but provided you can survive without spending more than 27,650,000 on a replacement, its great business.
