Man U had to play with kids when they developed their stadium. Arsenal had a depleted transfer budget when they rebuilt theirs. W Ham have been "gifted" the Olympic Stadium (renamed the London Stadium) and so have been able to develop their squad and stadium at the same time.
Whatever our plans are to develop Selhurst Park or rebuild at the Crystal Palace Stadium, I don't suppose we'll be subsidised by public funding like the Hammers.
I received a tweet today suggesting the most appropriate name for W Ham's new home should be the Taxpayer's Stadium.
Couldn't agree more. This name must stick!

think most of the fans in west hams stadium will need binoculars they are so far away from the pitch with the running track separation looks so bad

No I don't suppose we will, but we didn't win the 1966 World Cup so we don't deserve the accolades of a grateful nation.

I almost got angry until I realised your drole delivery had disguised your irony. Please could you post in red if you're being ironic in future!

Just wait the novelty of a new stadium will soon wear off .West Ham have been gifted a poisoned chalice as it is not a good football experience at the ground.

I thought they had retractable stands that could move closer to the pitch? On MOTD the stands still seemed pretty far away from the pitch to me.

I can agree with your point but don't forget Manchester City are doing the same at the Etihad! They pay £2m a tear rent and pay £1m a year from the 10 year naming deal which they received £50m for.

The Stadium was built for the Commonwealth Games and like the Olympic Stadium was converted by the taxpayer. It us about to go through another expansion at the taxpayers expense which is worse when you consider how rich they are.

Of course this is more normal abroad, lots of councils own the football grounds.

But whole everyone is upset about West Ham, Manchester City roll their eyes and keep schtum.
