So I was flicking through a few vids from "Football Daily" on youtube who you may or may not be familiar with, this particular video being about the biggest winners and losers in this seasons trasnfer window and was surprised to see our name come up, lil' old CPFC. Clip to the last segment (9 minutes 20 secs) to see it, but they don't really let up, basically saying Pardews just been stupid

Thoughts?

I think we've had a cracking window so far. Have a look at every club's ins and outs so far:

I can't see another club that have added three players who obviously improve their first team.

The following clubs haven't signed anyone of note yet/anyone at all:

Burnley
Everton
Hull
Southampton (replacing Mane with Redmond is a downgrade)
Stoke
Sunderland
Swansea
West Brom (Matt Phillips their only signing)

Only Wet Spam, Watford and Boro have been more active than us if you look at the teams around us, and you could argue they've signed much more unproven talent than we have.

Long way to go but we've made a good start.

Well, it remains to be seen how good buys Townsend and Tomkins are when the season starts, although the former has looked good in pre-season so far. If we sold/sell Bolasie we'd just be standing still. I would put a greater priority on an AM rather than a DM. They've got a point about strikers, we're losing them at a rate of knots and Benteke is a risk at the price.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

So we have signed three players each of which were still wanted by their respective club's fan bases. Two of which are international players. All of which are in positions we needed to strengthen.

*I reserve the right to backtrack if we sign another Bamford as our striking replacement*

When you buy a player my first thought is - will the improve the first 11. For all of our 3 signings - I personally believe they do. I am happy.

Simply put and valid point.
I must say though that their opinion on Townsend's price tag does coincide with mine. I've often considered him a bit of a one-trick pony, but I eagerly await adding a new post to that "Times you were wrong about Palace" thread. Not seen the pre-seasons games but people are saying he's looking good.

The best on the pitch in both games, refreshing to see someone attack so directly and with no nonsense, full intent and purposes clear. Won't be long before he scores and he's already gotten an assist.

As for our other signings Tomkins will gel over the next few games, forseeably rested last game due to worries from the phili game. Jury hasn't been picked to judge Mandanda yet but high hopes i feel.

We've been very proficient and adequately active so far and although we have a concern or two i can't see how any team doesn't have concerns about the effectiveness of their transfer business.
