If we can't get benteke and West Ham do why not go for diafra sahko who wants to leave there anyway.

100% fact that we were interested in this boy in January. Heard that from a very close source at the club. For whatever reason we didn't pursue it.

Not necessarily, remember who was player of the year last season? Vardy and Cante weren't too dear either. We need to pay the going rate and it's nice to have the Yanks bankrolling us b4 they rebuild selhurst and take full control, but £30mil leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I know it's the world we're in but recent events have shown the value of teamwork over big time Charlie players - I'd actually be happier with Charlie (no pun intended) Austin for £5 mil (or someone a bit pricier and classier) than Benteke for £30M - to me it just feels like cheating - was at Wembley and looking at the Man U fans ... what a bore, just feel a bit uncomfortable moving in that direction. There's an African or Eastern European or Chinese player waiting to be discovered - Villa paid £7M for Benteke (the same we paid for Gayle) - that's what we need to be doing, some of these players, like Lukaku, aren't interested half the time, we need to get players with something to prove - Benteke has established himself although not a great success at Liverpool and I question his motives coming to Palace. I hope he goes to West Ham, and so does he probably.

Don't disagree and in my haste I should have said not necessarily better.

However Vardy was bought as a proven PL striker and that's the problem. We can take a put on someone cheaper who MIGHT be a success or pay more fro someone who is more likely to be successful.

I think I can see the reason.
