Just found out he along with Nick Powell have been released both could be good players for us I think.

Powell was a great prospect a few years ago but hasn't developed enough so to this I would say no but Valdes on he other hand has proved that he is up to the grade to play at the top level. He's been a bit unfortunate over the last 2 or 3 years with injuries and I think that going the Manure wasn't the best move for him as he has been left to rot in the reserves and being sent out on loan. He was one of the best keepers in the world and think this would be an amazing signing for us. I hope Pardew feels the same.

Because of his size VV relied on athleticism which sadly is deserting him - it's why Barca let him go after so long. Not sure he'd be so effective in a full PL season. Steve Mandanda is a free agent too & might be a better bet. Edited by Nobbybm (11 Jun 2016 9.13am)

I know it's only the Belgian League but should indicate if he's still got it. He was never Barcelona level in my opinion, they needed to upgrade regardless of his age.
