Everywhere I look at the minute there's someone trying to rip off genuine football fans for the cup final yet bugger all seems to be done about it. The FA, Wembley & even the clubs don't seem to take it seriously so it just goes on & gets worse & worse. Does anyone know if there's a central contact point where folk could report it? It only needs to be details of the seat, the price paid and who to as all of these tickets can, in theory, be traced back to source. Perhaps the clubs could do themselves a favour & have an email address that fans could report these things to & then follow them up with the FA etc. Sorry, it just boils my p*** to see people profiteering from the needs of others.

One big club vs a smaller one so nobody gives a fvck. If it was Man Utd v Liverpool it would be on BBC News 24 and Sky Sports News every 30 minutes.

Tricky one. I am ticketless, and planning on going up on Saturday anyway to be a part of the day. If someone comes up and says "I've got two spares" I'll bite his arm off. By doing so, I'm effectively supporting touting (I guess). A genuine Palace fan may look kindly upon me and and sell a legitimate spare (sick, unable to make it, etc) at face value, but I could be full of bullsh1t, and actually be a tout - I could sell that ticket on at a massive markup. If the person I sell it to reports the massive price he paid, it would only get the poor bloke who tried to help me out in the sh1t, and I'd walk away scott free.

I'm going as well & I've got no tickets but Don't think your theory will pan out i'm afraid. Most touts would have done their business already. Those at Wembley will not have loads to sell but will offload them pretty quickly. Previous games at Wembley i have seen lots of tourists buying tickets will be the same Saturday for what few remain. Semi was different as We sold out Watford had loads left.

I get all the arguments for touts but by virtue of the fact they've got hold of any tickets shows there were some that fans could've got. I also get npn's point about the originally seller not being a tout but inadvertently selling to one however, if folk thought they were likely to get into trouble then they'd probably make sure who they sold it to in the first place. It seems simple enough to me to enable customers to return tickets to the authorised seller at face value or even a reseller nominated by the club. Ok, you'd end up with them charging 'booking fees' but at least these could be limited and you wouldn't see £45 tickets changing hands for £300+ Should even be able to weed out the tout ST holders & ban 'em - it'd be nice if there weren't so many away fans in the AW for bigger games. I have no problem with touts. Just go to the stadium scout out where these guys are & approach them just at or slightly after kick off, you can normally get a ticket at face value as once kick off is underway those tickets effectively become worthless.

Honestly? Get over it. It's called capitalism and you probably vote for it. We can -- and many have -- moaned about touts ad nauseam this week to the point where I'm almost starting to feel sympathetic to the touts, let alone bored witless. There is a market for tickets to sold out performances that achieve prices above face value. Many genuine Palace fans will benefit from the existence of this market during the coming days. Is it fair? No. Is it ideal? No. Is the reality going to change? No. Would be better off without the market for secondhand tickets, even at inflated prices? Probably not, when everything is taken into consideration. You don't have to buy tickets from touts if you don't want to. Whether you do or not, life will go on.
