......in the world?

At the start of the season, a Leicetser fan put 50p for them to win the league, a bet that would've returned £2,500. Having lost the first game he cashed out for 45p!

what does one have to do to collect the 50p? just a tap on the app or do you physically go there to pick it up.

i'm not the richest guy in the world but i don't think i'd cross the street for 50p.

Leicester won their first game of the season. And the second.

So basically the story is b*llocks, a cheap PR stunt.

I think its TUX's comment that they lost the first game, not anyone connected to the bet.

It could well be! Its on the BBC website, although it does say on there that he cashed out after Leicester won their first game, so the opposite to the OP. .

I would think true story and great PR for the bookies , but think it would be a hedger , algo or arb style punter

I'd happily lose thousands of pounds of potential bet winnings if CPFC won the Premier League. I genuinely don't think I'd be focusing on the money I'd lost.

I did put a bet on Palace to win the FA Cup this year, prior to them having even been drawn for their first game. Bookies aren't offering me a cash out that is exciting me though.

I read a BBC article about 3-4 weeks ago about people who had backed Leicester (all Leicester fans obviously!)

One supporter put £50 on them at the beginning of the season at 5000/1. He cashed out 4 weeks ago at £74,000!!!

William hill took only £64 in bets on Leicester winning the league pre season. If they do then they have to pay out just over £300,000 in winnings!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

He didn't lose money though he just missed out winnings

I think the more impertinent point is he cashed out 45p on 50p bet despite them winning. He must have really needed that 45p
