I can't decide if it would be a good signing or not; He's essentially the polar opposite to our current wingers in that he's fairly one dimensional and predictable with the ball, but he has a very very good end product. He's played a lot of Premiership football by now, and never really looked the real deal, the odd screamer aside. I think he's the sort of player who can be devastatingly effective against poor sides - his ability to cut in on his left foot and deliver quality crosses/shots exposes weak defences, but at the top level against good defenders, it's just far too predictable - it's why he's looked so good for England at times throughout qualification, he can really put weak defences to the sword.

I think his weakness would be tracking back & helping the defence. Attacking wise, he's a very good player. The only player in the Newcastle team who looks like he can change a game. Not sure he would be happy sitting on the bench though. Is he better than Wilf or Yannick - on his day maybe yes?

Would love him at palace would definitely give Zahra and bolaise competition in the wide areas but that's the quality of player we should be buying in the summer without a doubt

Will probably do what we wanted Sako to do this season. However this would just leave us with 4 fairly inconsistent wingers, when perhaps we need someone with a bit more footballing intelligence.

I'm pretty sure that we will only sign Townsend if we sell Bolasie. I think we need a wide player with a more reliable end product, and Townsend has that. If we can get a good price for Bolasie and get a good deal ( apparently £8m ) on Townsend, I'd go for it.

Why? Sako is a much better crosser of the ball than either Bolasie or Zaha, and more likely to score.

Why not keep both and add Townsend to the team what a midfield we would have than add 2 CF to that plus a CB and LB than roll on the new season

This would be a great signing. He's direct while running with the ball, can cross with both feet (see his cross with his right foot for Mitrovic in the derby) and can actually hit the target. It's a yes from me.

Townsend I think would be a great signing for us. I think he's runs would link up perfectly with an in form puncheon, add to our wealth of English talent. He can actually score as well which we need from our wide players, swing as we rely on them so heavily
