Good call. Though like all managers at basket case clubs I don't think his reputation will have suffered too much from this debacle

They'll keep Delia so long as they win the league.

While I admire Holdsworth for stepping in and wish him all the best, this strikes me as a "budget" takeover. Pretty clearly absolutely no one else was willing to take the club on and I think the accepted bid was a case of it being the only way of averting liquidation rather than any evidence of ability to restore the club's fortunes. They have a long, hard road in the lower divisions ahead of them.

Can't see him going back to Celtic and it would be a step back if he did IMO. Yes, he'd win a few more titles and get a decent salary but he's been there and done that and had to put up with all sorts of s*** in his personal life at the same time. If he has any ambition he should join another championship team For an old form manager to be truly successful, they need to do well in the champions league, which is getting more and more difficult every year due to budget restrictions (I remember Strachan said when he joined Celtic he was competing with mid-table premiership teams for players and when he left he was competing with championship teams, who knows where they are now). I grew up with Scottish football and can't stand Lennon, Celtic, or their ugly sisters however it is quite sad to see how far the standard has fallen and watching our teams being routinely pumped in Europe.
