So i feel like venting. Was it better the devil we knew ? Yet Ali zero chance to be elected, because the people who get to vote for the president of this worlds greatest sport, are those that are most corrupt in the first place. I will give most of the European nations the benefit of the doubt and say most have little to no corruption at the top. I will also extend that to Oceania, but between them they make up only 30% of the vote. Africa gets 26% all on their lonesome, throw in Asia with another 22% and you have to start asking why are we even in FIFA ? Each FA has an equal say in how football is governed, but as the game is very much continentally driven, it falls to the least successful and developed nations/continents to dictate the leadership of the game. Now, if everyone was to vote for the best man for the job, i wouldnt have a problem where he came from and who he represents, but we know the votes have all been bought up with cash and promises. Hosting the WC in Qatar will not change, and you will see it in other bizare places in the coming years also. How is this good for the game ? No its just good for a handful of peoples pockets. It looks like Infantino will win this hands down, and we will get a 40 team world cup which we really dont need or want, but i am sure the African and Asian continents will be very happy to get.

Firstly where have you been of late, were Blatter, Platini, and Valcke not all top FIFA officials and European and also now banned for corruption. Africa gets the biggest share the votes because they have the most member states 54, Europe gets 53 votes what's unfair about that, N America gets 35, S America 10, Asia 46, and Oceania 11, that's a total of 209 votes, in a straight runoff first to 105 wins, but when there's more than two, two thirds of the votes wins, that seems fair to me.

I think that all of the candidates are tainted to a greater or lesser degree. It's hard to imagine that any of these candidates didn't know what Sepp Blatter was up to and were complicit. I'd like to see FIFA disbanded and replaced by a new organisation personally. If that doesn't happen (which it won't sadly) I haven't got a clue who is the best or least corrupt candidate. Infantino seems to have the most charisma but that's no guarantee he will be the best President.

Lets hope it's Infantino so that EUFA can get on with it's life, apparantly he's not particularly a nice man but up to this point just driven.
Glad All Over |

No, sorry, i dont think Africa and Asia should have as many votes as they do just because they have the most countries. I think they should go with a system based on recent world football success by FA. So the likes of Germany and Brazil would carry the most weight, England would be way down there. I do think that we wouldnt be playing in Qatar in 6 years if we had a system like this. Who decides who runs the FA anyway ? nobody asked me

Hereford Eagle, I am thick and rude. However, how are they only 5 points ahead with 33 wins and second place (if they win all 3 games) go 4 points ahead? I will support them at Wembley BTW

As there are 209 countries registered there's 209 votes, but as Indonesia, and Kuwait, are suspended that brings the total down to 207. What two continents are you referring to, there's a lot of money swilling around in the Asian game as well as Europe and N America.

You talk as if it needs to be a fair democratic vote, but like i said, who decided who would be the head of each FA in the world ? Not like that was democratic. But its not democratic, its business, and having world cups in places like QATAR is not good for business(except Qatari business).
