Really want to go surfing and a lot of people have recommended this for the great waves.

Am just a beginner. Really wanted to do Portugal or Morocco for the waves AND weather, but can't go with the other groups due to it clashing with work.

However, this Bundoran NW Ireland trip one fits perfectly in March.

Am dreading the weather there, even with wetsuits on - but I suppose if you really love Surfing as a passion, the weather won't be too much of a factor, right. For the love of the sport and all that jazz right

Has anyone been surfing in NW Ireland - Bundoran County Donegal? Any tips or recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Anyone know if the wetsuit is good at staving off the cold in chappin' Irish Cold Spring Weather?

Can't help with surfing I'm afraid, but having spent Summer holidays in Donegal as a kid I would think a wet suit would be idea and that's for August and not even thinking about surfing. It's a beautiful place though and my understanding is that is a good place to surf but you will need to be dedicated.

Ah, thanks for the info Ketteridge! Yeh - keep on saying to myself that if I really love surfing, the weather should not make a difference!lol :/

Heard Bundoran is quite a chilled town also, with that friendly surfing vibe.

Actually looking forward to this trip despite the Baltic (or Atlantic weather in this case) conditions.

But the tragedy just north of this, where a whole Family drowned in a car is gut wrenching.

Thoughts and prayers to their Family at this time.

Wetsuits are nice

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Not into surfing but I have been to bundoran loads of times. The place looks really well now compared with 10-15 years ago. I read somewhere it's one of the top places in the world for surfing. Top 15 I think tho not to sure. The Donegal people are amoung the best in Ireland, don't know if you drink or not if so there is a few good bars. Used to be anyway.lol. I always liked the kicking donkey tho haven't been in it for years. There's plenty of amusements to but there a total rip off now since the Euro came in. Hope u have a good trip. That was awful what happened in Buncrana. Thoughts are with the victims and poor Louise James.
