Man Utd have terminated Januzaj's Dortmund loan deal. Van Gaal said at the start he warned him about going to a team he didn't think he would get much game time for and also wanted him to stay in the Premier League but the player wanted a crack at it anyway. It hasn't worked out though and the two clubs have agreed to terminate the season loan early. Could replace or compete with Puncheon (I honestly think he's much better but that'd be up for debate if he actually joined us) or he could backup Zaha and Bolasie. Surely the ideal loan replacement for Bamford. A truly top young player that we couldn't usually get at the club (at this stage) is surely what the loan system is for. Van Gal wants him at united. He has terminated his loan so he can play for United. He is going nowhere

Wouldn't get sufficient game time with us either! He had a good season when Zaha joined.

I think Zanuzaj would be a good fit for Palace, if LVG is comfortable loaning him to us given that Palace are in competition for a top spot with United. I think this would pretty much keep Chungy off the pitch, indefinitely, but this is football and sometimes she can be cruel to you.

Not sure Wilf would be too pleased if we signed him.

Wilf wasn't "good enough" for United.

Position is not a priority as things stand (But can change rapidly !) At this juncture our priorities are a central defender, central midfielder and a striker. In terms of Januzaj, at the end of season 2012-13 Sir Alex Ferguson hailed the player as one of Man Utd's brightest youth prospects. Edited by Willo (07 Jan 2016 11.09am)

Edited by Willo (07 Jan 2016 11.09am) I agree our priorities are defense and striker. However, we'd be looking to permantly sort these spots and I very much see Januzaj as a short term 'bonus' player thanks to the loan system. I will disagree with you on central midfield though. I'd be as happy to see Jedinak and Ledley as I would Cabaye and McCarthur. Januzaj would occupy one of the 3 spaces behind the striker where I think we are light.

Januzaj would occupy one of the 3 spaces behind the striker where I think we are light. This would simply repeat the problem we've had thus far. We've tried to shoehorn one natural wide player after another into the "number 10" creative midfielder role; Sako, Puncheon, at times Yala, etc. And what we've learned is that a great winger is not a great player when played out of position so the last thing we need is someone else's great winger being used in the wrong way. Totally agree that we need a "behind the striker" player urgently. Januzaj isn't it.

We don't need a midfielder. We need a striker. We also need another 'Young Defender' to come in behind Delaney and Hangers. Kelly will come good, Souare is doing the business but Joel needs to speed up or he will lose his place.

Kelly will come good I'm not sure what you mean by "come good" but I think Kelly is now what he is: a good Championship player and a decent Premier League squad member. He's now 25 years old, he's been with us for two years without breaking into the first team and on the evidence he's probably now found his level. He covers a lot of positions so he's useful to have around and I would certainly keep him but I think the odds are against him suddenly becoming a significantly better player than he is. He's a utility man and I doubt anything more.
