anyone remember them, anyone still using them? According to this report around 9,000 people haven't changed to colour tvs yet.
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |

Is there still a difference in the license fee? Yes of course I remember. When I 1st started watching, there wasn't that much in colour. I also remember the early colour TVs. I remember seeing a telly at a friend of my mums. The "black" gadget guy from Mission Impossible had a green face!

I remember trying to watch "Pot Black" on a black & white TV. Great stuff.

We got a small b&w Ferguson set for the 1953 Coronation.Dad refused to change the set until it finally broke down in about 1961, so we only had 1 channel for years. Colour tv ? You must be joking!I never got one until I married in 1975.

I can remember when my Dad upgraded to colour he let me put the black & white one in my bedroom. It had a wooden case with silver knobs that you pushed in to change channels - no remote controls in them days, and it took about 5 minutes to warm up before you had a picture.
