Having been subject to a football banning order and two subsequent court appearances as a youngster, I was ordered to report into Penge police station every time Palace played until I went to court, his solicitor is doing him no favours with this.

Also shouldn't that be 'alleged offence' if he is pleading not guilty ?? His solicitor has just tucked him up big time in that third paragraph

But his solicitor Steven Evans applied to have this condition lifted, on the grounds that it had “severely impacted” on his client’s social life.

Mr Evans said: “He was a young man of 17 when this allegedly took place. His social life is football, and he’s a young man – that’s what young men do.

“He has since this offence been prevented from going to any football matches, which has severely impacted on his social life. He’s now looking at missing the whole Christmas period, which is the most exciting time for any football fan.

“With the trial being fixed for May, he’s going to miss out on the entire season, and that’s going to impact highly on his social life.”

Its amazing the lengths they'll go to, so as to avoid actually having to go to watch games. That Criminal Record is going to hamper his career, childrens parties are 60% of his business (and sex life).

Good catch. You could be a solicitor or barrister.

I guess he felt that since he said "...allegedly took place..." he didn't have to say it again. He also might be using "offence" to mean "arrest."

IMHO the judge was doing this poor soul a favor as Clowns look certain for the chop.

There are no innocent Charlton fans, they are already guilty by association. Your honour.
