We had plenty of posts for a while from Toon fans giving their words of wisdom regarding Pardew. Now they can beat Norwich at home and not a lot more. Battered at Sunderland, battered at Pardew's Palace. Where are their condescending posts now?

Cisse's gesturing after his goal was symbolic of their mindset. Look at us, massive superior club. Look at you.

They were sh1te today. Open everywhere in their 3rd. No spirit, passion or care. Watching us take them on in the box. They'll be sh1te next week, the week after and the week after that.

"It's looking better under McClaren already compared to how Pardew was dragging us down" was the general feeling coming from the Pardew blamers. Well they can definitely blame Pardew for one thing. Or 5 things. FIVE f***ing 1.

FIVE f***ing 1.FIVE f***ing 1.FIVE f***ing 1.

Super Al and team, Enjoy your Christmas party tonight. The Toon team will probably accept the invite and a good p1ss up after the the gift of 3 points.

It was great hearing the Palace fans chanting

He left cos you're sh!t
He left cos you're sh!t
Oh Alan Pardew
He left cos you're sh!t!

We were cracking up at that one.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Many Toon fans thought getting rid of Pardew would take them to 'another level'.

That level is the Championship sadly.

I've posted on here before, namely a few year ago where a large number of members on here were hugely helpful in assisting and informing me in planning a trip for a project in South London - for that i'm still hugely thankful, you's were brilliant and i'm still desperate to get to Selhurst to experience a game as an adopted South Londoner. I find the place just wonderful! Such fond memories of wandering the streets of Lambeth, Camberwell and E&C.

Now, onto Pards haha! Firstly, I like the guy - and i'm genuinely pleased Palace and Pardew are getting the best out of one another, long may it continue as it's great to see externally. I know you's will have heard so repeatedly, but a lot of Newcastle fans do not 'hate' Pardew as is perhaps perceived to be the case. Sure, we have our selection of deluded and frankly nonsensical supporters, who inevitably shout the loudest. However, I know my perception is echoed throughout thousands of Newcastle supporters - and that is the simple fact that we do not actively hate Pardew, we disliked having him as our manager as the performances were consistently showing the same limitations and problems which were costing us 4-5 goals on a regular basis. Despite having some very good players, for 3 years we saw no improvements or even attempts to change things up week to week. We were no better under Pardew than we are now - only it went on for 3 years with no real signs of improving. Can't be all down to Pardew sure, but he was fairly given a share of the blame - and like any other fan of any other club, a lot of us were happy to see the back of the overseer of that period (where we were worse than we were against you's, yes really).

Anybody who expected us to be suddenly top half and playing good football just because of changing manager was clearly kidding themselves. I've been under no false pretences McClaren would be better than Pardew, or anybody we got in would be dramatically better - however we were just crying out for a change in something. We know Ashley is going nowhere, we know his boardroom staff are going nowhere. Leaving only what we see on the pitch - which is of course conducted by the manager - to aim our frustrations at. Which we did, and are now ridiculed beyond belief for it. Would thousands of us wanted to change a manager who was doing okay for us? Absolutely not! We were in a relegation battle consistently, as we still are - and that's why we wanted a change - as we still do! Every other fan of every other club would be exactly the same.

Come on now, 12th, 5th, 16th and 10th isn't a relegation batte every season, is it?

You were no better under Pardew than you are now? Have you lost your memory? You've got about 20 points since he left last January and this season you've managed to beat Norwich at home. Yeah right, you're performing the same under McClaren as you were Pardew.

Every January Ashley wanted a player sold when the transfer fees get inflated. They're sold for 3-4 times more than the ones you get in and Newcastle is the club that operates as close to break even more than most others. (Actually we've run at a profit but that's because we have 1 stand 90 years old and another that's 46 years old and that's the business plan)

And when Pardew left Newcastle after 19 games season 2014-15 they were in 9th place.

Stand by what I say, we are no worse now than we were under Pardew. The season we finished 5th was the luckiest season of football I have ever witnessed a team play. A side carried by individual brilliance. We were poor in a lot of games and scraped 1-0's or 2-1's that season. Since then, under Pardew, we weren't even half of what you's are now under him. Not to blame Pardew entirely, as I said - there's many things wrong with our club and factors that play into our problems. But how do you defend flirting with relegation every season - which we did. You've pointed out our league positions, however each of those seasons we've been right in the thick of it towards the end of the season, and just pulled ourselves out of it - or had other teams do it for us. We were relegation candidates most of Pardews reign, that is a fact.

Pardew only came in half way through season 2010-11 and Newcastle finished 12th, 7 pts clear of the bottom three.
In 2011-12 they finished 5th which was a terrific achievement.
OK 2012-13 wasn't such a good season, Newcastle finished 16th, 5 pts clear of the bottom three
In 2013-14 Newcastle finished 10th, 16 pts clear of the bottom three.
Pardew left in season 2014-15 halfway through the season with Newcastle in 9th place.

I will let others decide if Newcastle were "Relegation candidates" during most of Pardew's reign.

It's mind boggling how they think they're no worse now than they were under Pardew. 20 points or so since January and when Pardew left they were 9th. Now they're 19th and just about survived at the death because the very few points Pardew left them needing, they got, just.

We play them at St. James' Park in the 3rd game from the end of the season. If they get relegated they'll still be saying they're no worse than under Pardew after losing at home to Preston.

Me too. Everyone without alzheimers did, I think. Newcastle are the worst in the league rn, but under Pardee were never very close to relegation, even finishing in europe. I can't understand how Newcastle fans repeatedly attempt to justify the sacking of pardew. It's some kind of bizarre pride that makes no sense to me.
