Anyone think Lambert is worth a punt to get one over the old governor.

Selhurt Park fanatics or The Britannia? Know which I would chose

Don't think he offers any more than Murray

Always scores at Selhurst so would improve our home form.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more about this. Affordable, experienced, reliable and proven. Not an "A" grade signing but better than what we have and also has something to prove.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I still really rate Lambert. Think he is a clever striker with a outstanding scoring record.

At 34 he isn't one for the future but I still think would get us up to 15 goals with the right service.

At £4m would represent a huge outlay though.

Although the Baggies play at The Hawthorns - not the Britannia where Stoke play!

Actually think if we are going to get Bamford, Lambert becomes MORE desirable. Gives us an unproven but hugely promising young option alongside a proven older one who could mentor him, both at realistic prices. If we'd got Remy or Austin, Lambert wouldn't have been interesting but with Bamford, for me he comes more into play. If we got Lambert and Bamford we would have significantly upgraded our striking options, perhaps not to Remy standards but upgraded nevertheless. Do well and next year we can get into the really top striker stakes.

We do have our very own Glenn Murray who could mentor, and personally Inwould rather have Bamford plus someone like N'Doye (not the most attractive option out there but OK)- younger and potentially could score a few more than an aging warrier like Lambert?

Parish won't sanction a deal at that price for that age. Just no chance of getting anything back on him.

I'm not sure that Parish only looks at the investment potential of a player any more as has stated that he wants to move the club forward and challenge for Europe and will be aware that he needs experience and quality to do that.

Steve Browett also said at the end of the season that Chamakh's goal in our final game was worth £2.5m to us which is an alternative way of looking at a player's value

No way. Why sign Lambert who is past it when Murray is exactly the same type of forward
