Having a look at our squad and, when you look at it, there is the potential for quite a few players to depart this summer still.

I don’t actually think we require too much transfer activity in this summer window. I think the 3-4 quality additions maximum, that Pardew has mentioned, would be sufficient to strengthen the great squad of players we already have in place (as long as key players do not leave – Dann, Bolasie etc)

However, going through the squad list, what is the likelihood of the following players actually staying here or moving on? Still quite a few potential ‘Outs’ here.

Mariappa - Because he will probably bring in a sum over his worth from a team that really wants him (like Watford), sell.

Jack Hunt - ...and if Mariappa does go, Hunt steps in. He has hinted at having some ability. It's about time we had a chance to see it.

McCarthy - Coaching role? Can he drive? Don't we use the train or fly these days? Sell on for a few hundred thousand and maybe bring back in a coaching role one day in future.

Zeki Fryers - If we get a good offer (doubt it) then sell. If we don't, loan to a club who will give him a full season of experience.

Adlene Guedioura - Good player. I would be just as happy with him as Mutch but we're not going to sell Mutch so little choice but to move him on. But we should hold out for a decent price.

Jonny Williams - If we can get a good price, sell now. If we can't, send him back to Ipswich in the hope that he shines and inflates his own value, then sell him at Christmas.

Barry Bannan - Off to Scotland. Which means we won't get much money for him either.

Fraizer Campbell/Dwight Gayle - Sell whichever of the two bring in the most money/best player swap.

Shola Ameobi - By all accounts a very good squad member and a real leader. If we can keep him cheaply, on reasonable wages, we could do a lot worse from someone at the bottom of the squad who is not going to be called upon much anyway.
