With the transfer window upon us, and with the ever growing stature of the club, it's quite likely that we will soon be breaking our transfer record and that once mythical £10m sum for a player.

Something I have been discussing with other Palace fans is if you could bring in a £10m player (assuming he lived up to the price with his performances next season) where in the team could this signing make the most difference?

Where do you see the holes in the team that could be filled by a player of genuine quality, and in which positions do you get the best value for money?

Personally, I would say a player of this level as either a centre back partner for Dann or as a goal scoring midfielder, would lead us to make the most dramatic improvement this coming season.

I think your thoughts on where he would best fit in are reasonable but if we could get a prolific striker who is really hungry at that price I would jump for joy but I very much doubt it will ever happen.

Murray will put over 10 goals next season and i think it will be a good season for the club.
No need to waist money on a expencive striker.

Goals keeps you in the league and keeping them out does too, therefore; a quality striker or centre back for me. We have the midfield to generate opportunities, we perhaps lacked the premier league quality in front of goal at certain stages of the season last year to really push up the league.

Remy or Virgil Van Dijk, please

10+ million should be spent on a player who can keep the ball, keep the ball ticking over before playing a key pass to create an opportunity. We lacked quality in the final 3rd last season, trying to break down teams who came to defend and counter and a player of the above mould would help beat teams like this.

Not sure as a club this mythical payer or players are really the answer at the moment as the players we have now have all played well above expectations. I would be quite happy to start the season giving both Murray and Gayle a regular spot, personally for the playing time both have had neither have let us down and with more time and more support quite sure both are easily capable of more as the number of games each have played has not been enough to prove anything. Sonogo was a waste of space and with injuries to other payers nobody had time to prove anything. Perhaps 2 expensive over payed players will just upset the balance of the squad its OK for the Chelsea's, Man cities ect as they are all over payed maybe or a couple of seasons its better to remember where we have just come from instead of us all putting our hands down our trousers and getting over excited - its happened before, now crucify me!!

I would be quite happy for the club to spend 9.75 million on a player and 250k on new toilets in the Arthur Wait.

Spend it on wages and pick up real quality on loan or on a free. Cabaye or Song someone like that. Big transfer money should be spent on someone young with potential to stay and grow for years.
