Any fans on here? Which HOLers are radio 4 soap junkies? I don't mind admitting that I can't help myself but listen to the podcast every day.

I will also brake cover and come out of the closet as a fan of the Archers. I have been a listener since 1988.My Favourite story line in that time was BrianS Affair with Shavoun Hadditaway. Also the Grundys losing the farm. I find the podcast method as the best way to keep up to date with the news from Ambridge. Although the recent flood story line was a little OTT

I don't listen to it myself, but my mum does. I had a friend who used to think they were a band. So when people said that they 'listened to The Archers', he thought they must have had all their albums or liked to stick their greatest hits compilation CD on while they did the ironing. Amazing that it's been going for over 60 years. In your face, Coronation Street!

The world's oldest soap by some distance. It is something of a religion. Seriously, if the government were to announce the death of the 1st born, there would be outrage. However, that reaction would be nothing compared to a decision to reschedule the Archers. For me it is on in the background. I partially absorb by osmosis but have no real idea who anyone is [save Joe and Linda Snell] or what is going on.
