The most interesting question was the last. Paxman sat there crossed arms asking Mile-Bland if he was ok. It was obvious that Paxo "lost", and my biggest worry would be that his ego has been seriously hurt.

I thought they were both poor. Miliband is normally so bad at question time in the commons that he actually looked good tonight, relatively speaking to his normal performance. Cameron did not look his normal cocky self. I thought Cameron edged it, but not by much. If that is the best the two parties can offer, god help you. Mind you, it's far worse here.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Some tough interrogation from Paxman as expected. I didn't think that Cameron looked as comfortable as he would do when interrogated by Paxman. He was caught out by some stats he didn't know and it was left to Paxman to reveal them. Not his finest moment on TV. I thought however he looked far more relaxed and at ease dealing with the questions from the audience. Miliband tried to come across as being a tough leader and passionate etc etc but it didn't work. He also tried to be humble and admit past Labour failings etc but all along I felt he was "Treading water". Cameron for me !

Cameron got three shredded wheat questions and Miliband was bombarded with questions about his brother, his appearance and so on. Quite a biased affair but that ended up working to his advantage. Much was made of Miliband trailing Cameron by 8 points in the debates but beforehand he trailed by 20. As the parties were evenly balanced going in to this, it's a good result for Labour really. Disappointed with both of them. Thought it was a pretty vacuous affair and really don't think I learnt anymore about either of them. They both appeared to be focused more on presentation than substance. Thought Cameron probably seemed more nervous as he probably had more to lose. Milliband spent the whole interview trying to lead the discussion where he wanted it to go and failed. Lots of complete fluff such as repeating "all I care about is the British public" while leaving out the detail. The questions regarding his brother were pretty pathetic and unnecessary. Paxman has become a complete comical charicature who is now more interested in himself than in who he's interviewing in my opinion and seemed to concentrate more on making "good tv" with an aggressive approach that disn't really draw much out of them. Don't feel like the electorate is spoilt for choice.

Agree, thought Paxman was terrible. Cameron wasn't good, failed to answer most questions and kept rabbiting on about the economy. Not particularly "caring". Miliband came across much better in the Q and A but was found totally lacking detail in the interview. The lowlight of the evening was Ed's tough man impression, which had some of the audience openly laughing. If this was a football match it was a dismal 0-0. Against Crewe. In the pissing rain. On a Tuesday in December. Must do better, both of them.

Miliband's constant repetition of the phrase "I'm not going to make any bones about about it" suggested to me he was nervous and I felt he unravelled as it progressed. The tough guy thing was about as convincing as Rolf Harris in an interview to become a babysitter. Cameron was just Cameron. I don't particularly like him but would rather have him out of the two. Paxman is just an utter t***.
