Just in case you didn't realise... I don't even know where to begin. They are c*nts, out of touch, heartless, bloodthirsty c*nts of the highest order and I hope that Ed Milliband wins a landslide not because I like Labour, but just to rub in in these horrible conceited c*nts' faces that even a morally bankrupt party like Labour with a clown as leader is more popular than their brand of victimising, fear-inducing alienating politics. F*ck you Cameron. F*ck you.

His comments are disgusting but that's how governments behave when they don't have to listen to young people. The Tories have concluded that the youth vote isn't substantial enough and likely wouldn't go their any anyway. Sadly to many older voters this attack on benefits for the young will be seen as a good thing. Of course the Tories will never offer an EU vote either though so they don't even listen to their own base beyond buttering up pensioners to get back in power.

If part of these plans were to introduce a robust apprenticeship scheme, similar to those in Germany, I would see the logic in applying this policy. That would give young people a springboard into work and a profession, rather than being sucked into a life of benefit dependency.

I'm also guessing he hasn't lived a life bound by the M25. Anyone who's stretched their legs especially in a northern direction will know that the Tories were disastrous!
And I see signs of half remembered days, I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways |

We have a System here in Germany, were as you leave School you straight into an Apprenticeship which you have applyed for in your last year of School...you have no rights to benifits until you have worked at least 6 months.....so Camarons plans are not hard on the under 25, its giving them a Chance in life, not just sitting around complaning about how crap their lives are, So Serial Thriller, you should thak the Tories for trying to get you a Job......

F*ck you Cameron. F*ck you. Whilst this policy seems overly harsh (and at this stage I think it is still a "suggestion" rather than a policy) young people leave themselves vulnerable to this type of policy if they don't vote. It is wrong that recent policies favour the older generation (the new over-65 investment scheme being an example of this) but their turnout is much higher so it is understandable why the politicians do this. It will be interesting to see what policy Labour come up with to counter this idea. We need the two main parties to have different ideas, rather than just trying to appeal to the middle ground, so that voters have a viable alternative.

A girl I work with, a young single mum, who is working part time to do the right thing for her daughter so she can go to nusery and set a good example but gets punished for it because she works, only for 20 hours a week, by being at the bottom of the list to get a bigger council flat whilst again some feckless bone idol lay about goes to the top of the queue? Is that fair? Is it right that she often says whats the point in working if she gets penalised for it? Benefits should not be scraped for any age band but there needs to be some SERIOUS reform to not punish working families to the point a life on the dole makes economic sense. As for the career benefit scroungers (trust me there are plenty in the housing opposite my flat) should be hit the hardest rather than those who have fallen on hard times.

How can anyone disagree with... “Today it is still possible to leave school, sign on, find a flat, start claiming housing benefit and opt for a life on benefits. It’s time for bold action here,” he said. “We should ask, as we write our next manifesto, if that option should really exist at all.” Also, this article is from 2013.

Yeah its the same, except for the apprenticeship schemes etc. Its essentially a policy that specifically targets lower working class families (upper working class and middle class families will see their kids more likely as not in higher education and university). Its about cutting the costs of welfare, without affecting your base vote, irrespective of the actual human impact.
