Whilst I can agree with some, ie. Chris Gayle, Viv Richards, Adam Gilchrist, Wasim Akram I think people have forgotten how intimidating the West Indies were in the 70's and 80's.

I would have had Joel Garner or Malcolm Marshall in the side (or both), and I would have had Muralitharan as the spinner instead of Warne and the patronic in me would have had Botham as the all-rounder instead of Jacques Kallis.

All about opinions I suppose.

Wouldn't have had Gayle, Kallis or Lee in the team. As you say, any of the great West Indian paceman of the 80's would have had my vote instead of Lee. Would have had Sobers instead of Kallis, and instead of Gayle I would have gone for Jayasuriya

Remember this is a ODI XI, while Sobers was probably the greatest all rounder of all time, he only ever played one ODI as they were after his time. Plenty of great players missed out, Ponting unlucky not to be in there, but Lee also lucky to be part of the bowling lineup.

I don't think you can argue with any of the selected team. It's awesome!

Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to.
