This is America where people get shot every day. This story is no different to the many other shootings that happen in USA except that the shooter was white whilst the victims were Muslims so it's being built up into a race hate crime whereas it seems that the religion of those that died was completely irrelevant. It's fairly obvious that if a country allows it's citizens to own guns there are going to be a few crackpots that actually use them

Funny how it is deemed more acceptable to kill 3 people over a parking space than their religion. Clearly a nutter. Still, at least he's an atheist.

Sensationalistic Journalism aside, quite clearly the guy had mental health issues, which begs the more pertinent question, why was a known nutbag allowed to carry a licensed firearm. This is not what your post infers, some form of white on Muslim massacre that should be judged in the same way as someone from ISIS lopping of a journalists head. In this case it is my belief the race,, or religion of those sadly murdered is immaterial.

I don't really see a huge difference, between a mentally disturbed individual with extreme nutarded right wing views acting as a self appointed executioner people, and someone who identifies with extremist nutarded Muslim views acting as a self appointed executioner of people. Its just a question of friends and associates. There is a tendency in journalist circles towards laziness where Islamist groups are concerned and labeling them all 'by convenience' rather than difference. Happened a lot in Afghanistan where Taliban rapidly came to mean, anyone shooting at us. The fact that they were identified as Taliban to us, by their tribal enemies in the first place, tends to get overlooked. There is a real risk that as things go on, IS will become a similar phenomenia. We're already referring to groups that IS grew out of as IS (such as al-Qaeda in Iraq). We'll be taking information from other Syrian and Iraq, factions as to who 'IS' are. I'd put money on that turning out to involve information provided from the Syrian Government forces.

Similar to how pedophile rings are just nonses, until they're muslim pedophile rings. Its what Weatherall identifies as 'positioning of beliefs to defend the norm'

Many Muslin men do dehumanise no Muslim women, clearly in this case they did, thereby excusing there behaviour, at least to themselves. Cultural or Religious, I don't know but still relevant.
