Something that's bugging the hell out of me. Someone asked me who our first shirt sponsors where and when we succumbed to having crap splashed all over the shirt. Anyone know who it was and when ? I have AVR in my head but not sure that's right and it may be Top Score - Uncle Ron's rather lame and crap attempt at rivalling the pools companies Edited by The Sash (17 Dec 2014 7.57am)

It says on the official site it was Red Rose on the Adidas kit 83-84.

That was a lovely kit, adidas red n blue stripes. At least in them days when you bought the replica kit, it didn't have the sponsor on. But as a kid I always wanted the sponsor on, so you really felt like a player, now the sponsor is awful. I feel you should actually get a reduction in a shirt, if the sponsor is on it.. why would anyone in their right mind, want to walk about advertising a sponsor. You wouldn't wear a shirt out sponsoring the local take away,.or hairdressers!!
