What awful news. Was one of the most skilful forwards I have seen at the Palace. So relatively young as well.

Very sad news. Lots of great memories of watching him play back in the seventies. His goals were crucial in us getting back into the 2nd division (now championship). Who can forget that match at Wrexham that got us promoted against all the odds. RIP Jeff Bourne

A player in the Le Tissier mould. Deceptively slow and very skilful. Played for us during what has been, for me so far, around the best of times to be a Palace fan for sheer excitement. 1977. Those three years from FA Cup semi to winning the league in front of 57,000 at Selhurst (51, 801? Fvck that) - 1976-79 - well any player involved then has a special place.

RIP Jeff. You were a good and underrated player.

Very sad news. A classy player and a very cool finisher. I was at Wrexham and his superb strike in the 92nd minute will live with me forever.

This photo is from his Palace debut, v Brighton, 12.3.77.

I can't add anything to what has been written above, so I'll just say "Rest In Peace Jeff".
