The longer I live the less I understand about quite a few things one of which is how Jules could ever be overlooked for selection to The Argies side.I just do not believe they have anybody better so it will be very interesting to see who they have and how they perform.I just hope now that Pulis will take good care of Jules future because we want him most definitely in the sticks next season. For God's also give him a testimonial as well ,whether he stays or goes he certainly deserves some recognition for his fantastic efforts on behalf of The Palace.

Sabella is kind of well known for his aversion to selecting Premier League playes and, in fact only has 3 on his roster...all from Manchester City.

His Birthday is Sunday. Talks will happen as and when, I would imagine they have already started. We will find out in due time.

What a chance missed by the Argies. They must have some real good goalies.

I still do, it's short for goal keeper, but less bother to type.

i reckon the only reason 'keeper' has replaced 'goalie' is that sky tv pushed for something more phonetic for their announcers to rattle off under time pressure.

Got talking to some Argentines on holiday here in Spain. They are going to Brazil for the world cup.
I mentioned Julian Speroni to them , they had never heard of him. I found it odd, but maybe it goes someway to explaining why he is not in squad.
Sometimes it's a big world .

Its nice to know that there are ignorant aholes in Argentina. I always thought they were all either in Britain or the US!.

As with most organizations in this big wide wonderful world, it's usually not what you know but who. Why is my wife, an accomplished opera singer with several choruses in the US working as an usher at the Metropolitan Opera here in NYC instead of singing in their chorus? The same with Jules, he has played most of his career in Britain, first Scotland and then us. As good as he has been for us, the AFA could care less. Look what they did to Maradona after the last World Cup. They told him to fire his assistants if he wanted to stay manager. He did the right thing (for once) and told them where to go and how fast to get there. The three chosen are not regulars like Jules is but they play either on the continent or in Argentina, one of them for Boca. So, they get in even though they don't have Jules' record of accomplishment. It's not what they know, it's who. I picked Argentina to win it all due to the combination of Messi and Arguero, now I'm not so sure. Besides, Jurgie's Red, White and Blue Army will have more to say about things than most people realize. The USA will do both the Hermans and the Ronaldos!
