Been amazing this season, by far the most improved! Great all round player, in my eyes, should be picked to go rio! But I suppose it's mostly all about who you play for! If he was playing for a team in the top 4/5, he would be picked! Completely wrong.

Sadly I think you are right, unless he was 19-20 coming through from our youth set-up then he will never get a look in playing for Palace. If you are young you get talked about, if you are consistently very good but play for a low end Prem team you will just get overlooked.

I don't think we will get out of the group but then I didn't think that we would anyway, was a great time to play the top English performers in this transitional period for England but Roy has gone safe and boring.

Sorry but disagree, not about how good he's been but the whole small club thing. Look at Lambert et al.

His biggest problem is that he has spent relatively little time at RB this season filling in at CM & LB.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

How come there are so many Southampton players in the squad then?

Well Southampton are a good club and finished in a good position, lambert has scored plenty of goals, Adam Lallana has been very creative, and shaw is young and got high potential?

From a purely selfish Palace viewpoint it probably gives us a better chance of holding on to him if he is not displayed in the shop window of the World Cup.

That is a very good point actually, it would be good to keep him, vital player!

Southampton are not a lower Prem club. Neither are they a small club and Lambert has only got in as we really have a massive shortage of decent English forwards. There are lots of good English defenders, Shaw has gone in as he is the 'next big thing'.

Curtis Davies at Hull has been very good all season, better than Smalling & Jones but is overlooked, Ward the same, especially as you say, has hardly played his natural position all season.

Whilst there is a case to argue these players are used to the big occasion due to the clubs they play for, I think that consistency is vital and disregarding those players who are is naive.

Not a single player from outside the top 8, save for the "rock and a hard place" decision that is always who warms the bench for Joe Hart

While I feel for Ward there is no doubt its best for The Palace if he keeps a low profile so we can hang on to him. As for Joe Hart, I only wish Jules was not an Argentinian national and was a Brit so he could take over from Joe Hart who I regard as so unreliable because he propels my heart into my mouth every time he touches the ball!.

Why does every sentence end in an exclamation mark? Besides, I doubt England will be playing any games in Rio.
