Did us a favour early on by not giving the penalty for Bolasie's challenge.... but not the reason I'm posting. Did anyone else see his run from our box when Bolasie broke clear to set up Dwight for our 2nd goal? Fcuk me he was motoring and p1ssed past the Liverpool players trying to get back too. He was well in our box as Dwight side-foots it home. If any player had matched his run they might have stopped that goal. Respect to the ref!

Thought he did well. Right decision re Bolassie, Johnson was already going down. If he hadn't been it would certainly have been given. Overall tried to play advantage and keep the game flowing. That run was funny his cheeks were blowing but as you say it was some effort.

I don't think that YB air-kick was a penalty. The player was taking a tumble before the contact. However, I hope YB will heed the lesson - no clumsy challenges in the penalty area please

I've watched the Motd highlights a few times and you're right about the Bolasie challenge, the comm says at the time GJ is looking for it but I think we got a bit lucky there, they say that all these things even themselves out over a season, 'they' are probably correct And you're absolutely right about the ref, perhaps Brenda should sign him as a defender, couldn't do any worse Clattenburg had a decent game imo.

If GJ hadn't gone down before Bolasie kicked him, it would have been a penalty imo. Ledley (iirc?) wrestling Gerrard to the ground was a penalty though to be honest...

Decided it was probably a penalty after a few rewatches, but the ref doesn't have that option, and it did look like Glen Johnson was going down before contact was made (and in real time the contact looked very minimal).

Looked like YB only made contact with the players shorts flailing in the air, not the players actual leg. Could have had some sympathy with the ref had he give it. I think it was the right decision not to, both as he didn't make contact with the player (imo) and certainly not enough for him to go down and the fact he was already on his way down. Good decision. Overall good reffing.

Its supposed to be, but then you see that all the time in the box from set pieces, by both sides. We never get them, why should they.
