dannyh wherever I lay my hat....... 06 May 14 2.54pm | |

I went down the front pitch level from my vantage point at the back of Block D, mainly to clap the players off, and hopefully get a few good pictures while on there lap of honour. And I did both of those things, but what worried me is our man Jules looking very upset, close to tears and muttering something in Argentinian sort of under his breath while applauding the fans back. It was very very clear that he was upset about something, it did seem to me that it was a goodbye Jedi Noticed and raced over to put an arm round him. Did any one else notice this ? or am I reading to much into it, I don't think I am, I wasn't pissed (rare for me I know) and it was quite apparent something was upsetting our Jules (the best Keeper we have had since Nigel Martyn IMO). I will not be happy if that's whats happening. One of the top 3-4 keepers in the prem.

Whatever the situation is we should make Fulham away Julian Speroni day. 10 minutes of non-stop singing for the man at the start of the game should do for starters.

He seemed to show a lot of sympathy for Suarez and they share the same native tongue (Spanish).

I noticed it too. Throwing his gloves to the crowd, looking very emotional, hugging people. Looked like a goodbye to me. But I reasoned that for Jules, this MAY be his last game at Selhurst and he was saying his goodbyes IN CASE he doesn't return next season. I have confidence he'll be offered a new deal and pray he accepts, and last night was just about the amazing season he's had and the possibility it may be his last for us.

What a great way to bow outv the club for speroni on a high.... i would rather him leave us now on form and on the back of a historic season...than go through a loss of form next season and loose his place to hennessy and then call it a day.

Hopefully he'll be battling it out with Hennesey for the No.1 spot next season (and winning).

I just have a feeling that Hennessey will play against Fulham.

I just have a feeling that Hennessey will play against Fulham. There is absolutely no reason why he should and we don't do squad rotation for the sake of it.

Jules has said he wants to stay. SP has gone on the record saying he will be offered a new contract. If the new contract is seen as some sort of insult he might leave for a better offer elsewhere, but I don't think our owners are that stupid. I'd bet he'll be here next season.

I've heard rumours that Hennessey has been told he can play in goal against fulham. I've heard from the same source that Speroni has signed a new contract, but also that when Hennessey signed he was told he'd be number 1 next year.

Sincerely hope this rumour is rubbish.
