Darren Bent has been relegated for the third time in his career - months after refusing to join Crystal Palace because he reportedly wanted to avoid another relegation battle. HaHaHa!

We probably would have been in the relegation battle if he had joined Palace.

Personally, I believe if we had Darren Bent I think we would have got more goals as under Pulis we would have had more of a poacher and therefore more goals. He would have flourished I believe under Pulis and probably could've contributed to turning a few loses into draws or draws into wins. You never know he may well still end up at Selhurst next season.

That is a good point. He certainly couldn't have scored less than Cameron Jerome!

Don't think he would've suited our play at all. Our system relies on a big, strong central striker like Jerome, who's full of tireless running. This opens up space in behind for the likes of Chamakh to get on the ball, and also allows Puncheon and Bolasie to be brought into play after Jerome holds up the ball. Bent does none of this. It's very simplistic to unpick certain moments and try to isolate them from the context - Bent may have finished some of the chances Jerome has had, but would he get in those positions in the first place, or create the space that's allowed Puncheon and Chamakh to score their goals?

I doubt he cares. He'll toddle back to Villa and still be a Premier League player.

In response to this - Pulis played a system based on what he had available to him. If he had Bent instead of Jerome he would prob have played a different style.

He has always striked me as a lazy player and hard to motivate, so it was just as well he joined Fulham..
