todays atmosphere was like the performance, we tried at times but lacked quality.

It was constant and loud. The days whole stadia chanted are no longer. Average fan age has seen to that, along with the prawn sandwich brigade.

Sadly very true BW. Mind you, not so much as usual to celebrate.

The guys around Block B were working hard as were the Arfur. Block D and over to the left quieter than usual. I wondered if it was too many day-trippers, saw lots of people today that didn't usually sit around me and lots of people arriving who obviously weren't used to SP.

Hopefully if they come a few more times they will get in the swing of things. As the Americans say we'll get them aclimated.

Bit of an end of term feeling. Just a one-off, I'm sure.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

It was a bit subdued but (apart from the day trippers) there's a good reason. We are now just competing for "sport" rather than survival. Even the most fervent singer who sits near me had a quiet day

Was in the Arthur today and everytime I stood up to sing/jump around, I hear non stop tutting and huffing behind me. Wish everyone was in unison tbh.

Extremely embarrassing in the second half when the Hol sing "Stand up if you love Palace", and about 30 people out of 1000 stand up to the chorus of more tutting and sighing.

Very good point. Ironically, many sang, and louder, at the Chelski game to prove what a bunch of prawn sandwichers they are. Point taken tho'
