Been a while since Ive done one of these, what with all the games being available to watch live now theres not so much need. Anway, for old times sake if nothing else... Nice easy journey for me on the tube - got to West Ham, first visit for me since we sent them down in 1992 and Mark Bright scored. Did not recall how grim it is around the ground, real sh!thole. Got in and had possibly the worst seats - right at the back on the far left although we all had our own little thing going on. Some decent banter with West Ham fans about Millwall early on. Then they started to get on Bolasie's back so it all got a bit more edgy - which to be honest I prefer - all this matey rubbish doesn't work for me. Im sure you've all seen the game so no need to comment much, other than to say how good can Bolasie become ?! Gave their left back nightmares. Carroll is a dirty b@stard and no way an international - Nolan is just annoying, but our boys gave it back plenty. Great couple of saves from Jules, definite pen well taken, Puncheon looked like a man on top of his game and everyone looked good to me. The bubble generator is very lame and the robotic hammer mascot is just plain strange - getting a well deserved 'what the fvcking hell is that ?' chant. Some good chants at west ham fans, such as 'is this a library ?', 'is there a fire drill ?' and my personal favourite 'you're gonna boo in a minute' and the fans in fine voice, while Wet Sham were sporadic at best. I have to admit the system they have set up to get into the tube, while frustrating, is very clever. By the time we got to the end of the queue we figured we might as well walk to Plaistow so we did. Amazing how Pulis has the team playing - as we so rightly sung 'we're Crystal Palace we win every week' I cant imagine City fancy next week one little bit. Remember all those posts about 'how many points would we get to the end of the season' before the Chelsea game ? I haven't checked but Im guessing no-onne said 15 with 3 to play. Immense. Very proud. Top away day. Edited by FinchleyEagle (19 Apr 2014 7.06pm)
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |

Thanks for the pics and the report. Good to get a view from the stands. Shows Bolasie is really feared by the opposition if he's getting banter.

This was my 8th Palace away day this season and after suffering 7 losses and not a single CPFC goal scored, I finally enjoyed an away goal, an away clean sheet and 3 marvelous away points.

thought the back four and jedi in particular, were very good today. Wasnt our best game going forward, but those 5 defensively were very good.

Unfortunately had to sit in the West Ham end as couldn't get a ticket in the away end so a few views from where I was sat. Thought defensively we coped very well with west ham's one dimensional lump it up to Carroll attack and wasn't overly troubled by anything they had to throw at us. Not really fair to single out players after such a good away team performance but I thought Bolasie today was fantastic, turned the right back inside out on a number of occasions and created numerous chances. I Was also sat in the corner and you could see the smile on Yala's face when he was walking over to take a corner and was getting plenty of abuse from the spammers fans, think he was enjoying winding them up! West Ham fans were non existent from start to finish in much contrast to the wall of noise coming from the away end. Message to all the fans in the away end, you not only showed your quality today but also your class. The Applause for the young west ham player that passed on this week before and during the game shows what a fantastic set of fans we really have. Can't wait for City and Liverpool now, bring it on!!!!!
Players come and Go Legends are Forever Palace seasons dont start till December 1st so let the rollercoster begin. |

Thanks for the report. Yes if we can't make it we can watch it online but always good to hear the view from the terrace. I have stuck a few reports up this season after away games always go down well. Bolaise seems to have improved imensly over last couple ofmonths just need him to start finding the back of the net.

great report couldn't be more proud to be palace the only thing I'm a bit upset about is that we've reached safety so easily and away from home.
