Both have had an incredible impact in their first season with us but who achievement is the best? I personally think TP purely because of the quality of the opposition but Dowie's was pretty spectacular too.

Dowie had players that were under performing. Pulis basically had mediocre players and made them better to compete at a higher level.

No contest, Pulis is the winner.

Pulis or Coppell, Dowie had one good season. Choked it in the Premiership, then choked it in the playoffs, before going off to choke on pikey co*k.

There's a reason why Pulis is still a manager, and Dowie is an occassional freak show pundit and roving reporter for Sky Sports.

I agree with you about Coppell but i only mean the first season impact.

Is this a serious question?

Pulis has achieved that which no other Palace manager has achieved in the Premiership era.

End of!

We'll only really know for sure after Pulis has had another season. Looking at TP's track record at Stoke, however, it's clear he's not a one trick pony like Dowie emphatically was.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Pulis every day of the week, that's not taking anything away from Dowie's achievement in his first season which was incredible but Pulis has done it against the best in the business and come up trumps. A great no nonsense football man ...

Bear in mind that last night's starting team v Everton contained only two of the last transfer window signings - Dann and Ledley. So TP was largely working with the team he inherited. Shows either that he is a miracle worker, or the summer signings were quite good after all. Perhaps both.

As Cucking said, TP has demonstrated he's not a one trick pony, whereas Dowie....

Let's face it, apart from our first season with Dowie what the hell has he achieved?

It shows what a good man manager TP is. Dowie did it in the championship, a whole different ballgame. TP has taken a team that was all but relegated and given them confidence and belief. In the Prem.Incredible.

Indeed, Dowie achieved a spectacular result on the basis of his capacity to motivate. He already had a very good squad, that was lacking belief, direction and confidence.

Its worth noting that without his brother, Dowie was judged a failure everywhere else he went. One trick pony is being generous. I suspect anyone with a basic knowledge of football, but good understanding of motivational psychology could have achieved similar results.
