Take the Overground from Norwood Juntion or New Cross Gate then change at Canada Water for the Jubilee line, change at West Ham for District Line to Spamland (aka Upton Park.)

Another way the one I am going is to Take the Overground from West Croydon/Norwood Junction or Crystal Palace to Whitechapel and change to either the Hammersmith and City or District lines to Upton Park
