Wishing our fans would stop f. Ing about and start hoping we can hold on to our best players for a change and keep our squad for more than one season then we might be the PRemiership club we want to be |

What if he is transferred to Brighton, Charlton or Millwall? Woud the statue remain?

Any news on his contract yet? Seriously worried that he'll leave. Couldn't deal with that

Hennessy is the chosen one as far as TP is concerned. New managers always seem to dislike cult heroes. When he became boss, Warnock showed the door to Dougie. When Dougie became boss, he showed the door to Ambrose. If he stays next seaon, my guess is that TP will want to mark his own stamp on the team by making wholesale changes and shedding a few old favourites. Sad, but that's football. People move on.

Is he techinically a cult hero? Or is he just a hero for being excellent? Wright, Bright, Thomas et al weren't cult heroes, they were just the bees knees. Palace cult heroes are more along the lines of Danny Butterfield who was good rather than excellent, had a dodgy barnet and scored an improbable hat - tric. Others include Rudi Hedman who was utter pants and Leif Andersen who had cult status merely for being a huge Scandinavian. Speroni oozes class and has secured more points than any other player this season. The defence have exceeded expectations hugely this term, and they are a unit. Why mess with something that works well just yet? JS is in the form of his life and shows no signs of slipping. After a few years when younger keepers (eg Cech and Hart) were in vogue in their early twenties, I think we are back in an era when keepers peak in their thirties. I'm sure I'm biased having met JS this week, but I would be mortified if he doesn't get his contract renewed. Competition with Hennessy is no bad thing - can't remember when Palace ever had 2 good keepers at once (I go back to Baron / Fry in 1980!)but Hennessy will need to reach some standard if he's to dispossess JS of the shirt just yet. As an parks goalie in my youth, I never thought I'd rate a Palace keeper as highly as my all time favourite, Nigel Martyn. Reckon JS is up there. He doesn't need a statue to be a Palace legend.
