I ranted last week and said I hoped it would be my last rant, after the performance yesterday it may well be. We pressed higher up the pitch, hassled and harried and put them under pressure. We won the ball back in their half just unfortunately we have no cutting edge up front.
I was also very critical of KG last week. He really stood up yesterday, got in good positions, tackled well, harried well and was general pest. So here is my apology to KG he made me really eat my words I am glad to say.
If we play like that week in week out and hassle and harry teams high up the pitch and play with a bit more tempo then we will beat teams. The rubbish we saw last week adn Sunderland by allowing them to do what they wanted with absolutely no ambition was replaced by a 'want.' We got bodies in the box, we had a few shots on goal we went for it at times.
My only complaint is one I hate making but I am sorry the refereeing today was nothing short of embarrassing. Where that extra time came from, can anyone answer that? Williamson was wrestling either Cam Jam or Muz everytime the ball went up to them, and the handball at the end was clear. The full back got away with whatever he wanted to do and on the other hand whenever one of their boys fell over near the box they got a free kick everytime. That was a real kick in the nuts, I wish Probert would have to come out and say why that time was added on for no obvious reason. I understand that it is a minimum of 3 minutes but that is if an injury happens or another substitute happens, neither did. Oh well onto the next one but the performance yesterday was chalk and cheese compared to the last week and I am delighted to point that out.
