How can people possibly be complaining about this season? In my honest realistic opinion, we don't really deserve to be here, from January to May in the championship we were largely pretty poor, though we got it through the play-offs with some inspire performances, perhaps due to Holloway's experience, but obviously his signings and tactics didn't work in this league. Pulis has not had pre-season to get to know his players, or bring in the players he wants, he's come in and got us to play to our strengths. A lot of our team is far from premier league level, like Jerome, Gabbidon and Kg who have all been major players for us at some stage, but we've had to work hard to get results against good teams. Borini and Adam Johnson are class players for Sunderland, it's hard to play against them. Under 4 years ago we were a whisker away from league one and possibly extinction, but i'm f***ing delighted with where we are; in a decent position to avoid relegation. Pulis is working with probably the squad with the least quality in the division. Keep the faith.

No one is hating TP, but he should be giving other players a chance.

KG is s**t and if Fulham are giving a 19 year old a chance then why can't he give Bannan and Gayle a chance?

Maybe there 19 year old is much better then any of our players and a better option for them. Just a thought really.

I hear what you are saying, but with Chamakh out, wouldn't it be good if TP told Gayle to show him what he can do?

Get Gayle fired up and to prove that we don't need Chamakh?

I trust Tony Pulis a lot more than I trust most posters judgement on here.

What's the obsession with Gayle on here?

Ok, he's got a reasonable goals-to-minutes ratio, but to be a Premier League striker, you need so much more than that. Look at Darren Bent, his scoring record in the Premier League is very good, but his all round play isn't, which is why he's never been/will be a great striker. Gayles link up play is pretty woeful, and we can't afford to start with him, at this time. Having said that, the potential is there and this is his first season in the Premier League, so hopefully next season he will have matured and acclimatised a bit.

Having said that, in the last couple of games it seems that Pulis has his substitutions pre-planned. I've just slagged off Gayle, but he is useful in the last 20 minutes (Sunderland at home, Villa away) and it seems we have no Plan B at all.

I was surprised not to see Gayle come on yesterday as per this game. He ran them ragged then, won and scored a penalty for the winner.

I don't hate TP. I've heard him interviewed and he seems a charming man who wants to play football in his way. Unfortunately his way of playing football makes you question why you actually like football. I personally don't enjoy watching it or feel the ends justify the means. Others on here do, it's all about opinions and they are all valid, but if anyone thinks it will be any different next season if we stay up they are sadly mistaken, in my opinion. If I'm wrong I'll be surprised and delighted and will apologize immediately.

we don't hate Pulis, just because we question his tactis i just think Gayle has more to offer than Jerome who never looks like scoring having Gayle come on with 20 minutes to go has worked for us in the past

Zaha has some green grass in front of him here. Finds Ambrose
not a bad effort ooooooooooh! what a goal by Darren Ambrose absolutely stunning strike!!! And, Crystal Palace lead @ Old Trafford.

Only one occasion it has worked. Every other time he runs around like a headless chicken. Watch his highlights for Peterborough as well as scoring some goals he missed loads of sitters he is not as clinical as some make out.

What do you mean 'we don't deserve to be here?'.

We deserve just as much as the other promoted teams to be in this league. Yes, we may have limped through the playoffs but over the course of last season we deserved our place.

I'm tough. I'm ambitious. I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, I'm OK with that.
