Pulis looks like he has one short term goal and that is to keep us up. The team selection for the last few matches including today and the tripe we are playing have been disastrous. However, he just might achieve his goal and as it's 0-0 with Sunderland at the moment if it stays that way this 1 point could help achieve that (despite the match boring me to death). Now, I am certainly not saying sack the man no matter what at the end of the season, especially if he manages to keep us up but do we think he is interested in anything other than maintaining his impressive record of never being relegated? For example, with most managers, I'd think they'd play the way Pulis is playing now until the end of the season for necessities sake and then next season we'd see the introduction of a goal scorer (new signing), Williams, Bannan, Guerdiora and Gayle to the starting 11. However, with Pulis, I think it's looking more and more likely that if he stayed, our midfield for the first Premiership match of next season would consist of Jedinak, Ledley and KG. I just think that IF we survive this season, we'd have been somewhat fortunate but that is fair game for what I consider one of the least prepared Premier League teams ever. But next season if we carry on the way we have over the last 4 games, we will definitely get sent to where the rest of the football world think we belong. Thoughts?

He is focusing on staying in the premier league like we all should be. He is a fantastic manager no matter what any person has ever said on here. I'm sure if he felt we could go and challenge Europe etc. he would play that way but his main focus WILL be and SHOULD be for us to survive for the first at least 3 seasons id say. If he keeps us up, although me saying this will make no difference to a lot of fickle fans, he has done his job and kept our team in the premier league for the first time in out history. WBA Cardiff Fulham Sunderland, all arguably play "better football" than us. I'm sure they will not give one s*** if they are in the championship next season. I just don't know what people expect - a lot of these fans slaughtered Holloway whilst he was here but it seems as he would be your preferred choice as he did try and get us knocking it about and "giving it a go" Where would've we been now if he stayed? Just think about that and take absolutely nothing away from pulis, if his tactics are enough to keep a team up who really don't have a lot of quality then he is genious. Simple as

Is Pulis interested in good football? It obviously depends on your definition of good. Good being a means to an end or good as in really really pretty?
Most certainly not European. |

Roberto Martinez could not get our team playing good football. It is not Pulis's fault he inherited s***e.

Why are people surprised? We knew what we'd get when Pulis came in - sh*t football, 11 6 footers, forget about the youngsters, but he'd get the team organised and hard to beat and give us a good chance of staying up. Personally I was never ecstatic at his appointment and have yet to warm to him, but then again I find the whole Premiership experience a bit tiring and would rather see us in the Championship playing youth players and attacking teams than struggling in the Prem with a load of players I don't give two sh*ts about.

No, obviously but will this mentality keep us up ???...the more I see of it the more I don't think so Showing virtually NO attacking intent might get us the odd 0-0 but if the West Broms, Fulhams and Cardiffs of this world decide to take some risks and start getting the odd result it will see us overhauled pretty quickly After last week and today I think now we will definitely be bottom three unfortunately... something has got to change and Pulis is simply not going to do it If I was Gayle or Bannen I would simply hand in a transfer request now - if you cant even get 5 minutes at the end with the dross that is going on out there at the moment then you never will

Whilst sentimentally accurate, financially I reckon our owners would disagree.
