Some players deserves success more than others. Delaney is one of those. He will never be mentioned as a brilliant player, but looking at what he has been through since arriving in England I really love to see him playing for Palace in the Premier League. He always gives 100 %, and rarely misses a tackle or an aerial duel. Released by Ipswich, now a genuine force in the Palace defence. His tears of joy after the Wembley Final says it all. He is genuine and a model pro.Obviously there are better CB's in the Premiership, but none With a bigger heart.

all great however you are forgetting that he must have the worst distribution as a CB in the whole league. I don't think he can physically pass the ball and I noticed this especially against Swansea, all he can do is long diagonal hoofs across the pitch, it is where most of our bad performances stem from as we cant actually retain the ball. Apart from that though he is a good CB Edited by Breamy11 (07 Mar 2014 5.18pm)

Nearly every time he had the ball vs Swansea he played the long diagonal hoof up the pitch & kept giving the ball straight back to them. Been a solid defender for us this season though.

Damien Delaney will have been asked to make those diagonal passes. He does it so often that if it wasn't part of the game plan, he wouldn't be playing.

Yeah he's a right legend and seems a proper leader in the squad. I saw on, I think Instagram, Joel Ward describe him as his football hero. Top commitment and desire for Palace, great solid centre back.
