Thoughts so far? Personally i think he's been anonymous in the last two games. Completely and utterly anonymous. Don't think i heard the commentator say his name once. Crazy to think he's playing over Bannan. Thoughts?

I live in Scotland and the press were raving about Ledley when he left .....they do have a thing about players leaving Scotland for the EPL ..whatever that is !! Not seen much to impress me ....I rate Barry Bannen so highly . Probably best outfield player at the club . TP obviously doesn't rate him . He should do.

I rate Bannan too but he would not have scored the header from the corner

In the last 2 games we have played teams where we were never going to dominate possession and our midfield were always going to be breaking up play more than dictating play ! We also need to allow him to get used to the pace and standard of the football as the standard he has been used to is Championship level at best ! Look at Ince as another example ! They are both far better than what we had and have made us stronger for the next 10 games and in the next 2 games I'm sure especially after the second half yesterday we'll play In a slightly different way !

Ledley is class! Give him some more time and his 2 half yesterday (as with the rest of the team) was good enough to earn him a place in starting 11.

I thought he looked better at LB ironically! Looked to have good composure on the ball. Without wishing to re-start the "Should KG be in the team or not" debate I think he was anonymous as he was playing in the def mid role alongside Jedi. People complain that KG does nothing, however we always seem to play better with him in the team, certainly defensively. It could well be the same case for Ledley.

Some players take longer to settle than others, I seem to remember Geoff Thomas didn't look to great when he first came, but look how he turned out! I'm expecting a similar outcome with joe Ledley tbh.

In the last 2 games we have played teams where we were never going to dominate possession and our midfield were always going to be breaking up play more than dictating play... This is an interesting point, but I think it's more a mindset and a tactical approach than a given. Pulis likes to play a counterattacking game where we soak up pressure, break up play, get men behind the ball and hit teams on the break. To me, initially this made sense with the players we had in October but to be honest, I think with the players we've brought in since then we should be looking more to dictate games rather than simply sit back and react to opponents. In my book, Jedinak and Ledley in the middle with, say, Puncheon and Bolasie/Bannan/Thomas wide is a pretty capable midfield and perfectly able to handle its share of possession. I mean everyone rates Jedi as a Premiership quality sitting midfielder. Ledley has effective Champions League experience. Puncheon scored ten or so Premiership goals last year so he's hardly a waste of space. And Bolasie appears to be on the radar's of a lot of big clubs. So do we assume we're not capable of winning and keeping our fair share of possession with that lot? I'm happy to give Pulis a pass tactically this season. He's done the job so far and staying up comes first. But I would hope, given the sort of player like Ledley we're attracting, that we'll impose ourselves a little more tactically next season. We're capable of it. Against Man Utd. I thought our lack of self belief hurt us as much as anything they did. Edited by sydtheeagle (03 Mar 2014 8.40am)

There is a world of difference from being a flat track bully in the Scottish PL at Celtic to adjusting to the EPL - give the man a bit of time One thing puzzles me though - I thought he was meant to be a bit of a dead ball expert - just wonder why he isnt taking free kicks ??? One thing puzzles me though - I thought he was meant to be a bit of a dead ball expert - To be perfectly honest I have not heard Ledley as being a so called "Expert" in this aspect of the game nor have I witnessed such prowess from the player himself. He certainly has good feet, great awareness and can pass a ball well but he does lack a certain degree of pace.

Has been playing with a hip injury. And needs time to bed. Thus unfair to judge him; but was it sensible to play him?
